Last year, Brandworkers founder and executive director Daniel Gross announced that he would be transitioning from the staff this year after fourteen years of dedicated service to the membership. Brandworkers members are now leading a nationwide candidate search for the organization’s next executive director.

As the transition process continues, we’re pleased to announce that Brandworkers Program Director Gabriel Morales will begin as Interim Executive Director on March 15th. Gabriel will focus on supporting the success of Brandworkers organizing efforts in food manufacturing and of the initiatives that resource the struggle during this transition period. Since 2016, Gabriel has been a leading contributor to Brandworkers’ impact and has earned the trust of the community.

Daniel will remain on staff for the next several months to continue supporting the transition process.

Thank you for standing with the workers who feed New York. We’re blessed to be able to have a visionary and generative transition process to kick off Brandworkers’ next chapter. Our organization is deeply rooted and well-positioned to get to the next level of worker power in the food manufacturing industry. We’re grateful for all you do.
