EWOC Training Day
On June 10, Brandworkers Executive Director Gabriel Morales and Organizer Cody Eaton served as trainers for the first-ever in-person Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC) training workshop in NYC. Dozens of workers across industries attended to learn organizing fundamentals they could apply to challenges in their own workplaces. Gabriel, a volunteer with EWOC since its early days in the pandemic, led a module on how to have successful organizing conversations, while Cody used stories of his experience organizing at Amazon to underline the importance of inoculating coworkers. EWOC is a distributed grassroots organizing project launched by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America (UE).
